"Claire LE FUR (grande harpe, France). C’est grâce à elle que la harpe a pris part à la musique traditionnelle antillaise et tient maintenant une place à part entière auprès de la flûte des mornes […]. La harpe est maintenant reconnue dans de nombreuses compositions traditionnelles."

Claire Le Fur, harpiste et compositeur, reçoit en 1984 le diplôme supérieur de Concertiste. Depuis 1993, elle a créé les « Journées de la Harpe en Martinique », regroupant chaque année différents artistes autour de cet instrument, au mois de Novembre. Elle poursuit actuellement une carrière de concertiste aussi bien en formation de musique traditionnelle antillaise que classique, sans pour autant abandonner l'enseignement (Emma de St-Raphael) Elle se produit en musique antillaise avec Max Cilla (flûte des mornes), Guy Louiset ou encore Barel Coppet. On a pu la voir en concert au Jardin des Papillons le 3 mars 2007 .

Genlis, Stéphanie-Félicité Du Crest (comtesse de), 1746-1830, rédigea vers 1802 une Méthode pour apprendre à jouer de la harpe. Publiée chez Minkoff (impr. en Suisse).

Saint-George composa L'Amant Anonyme d'après un livret de Madame de Genlis. Publication : Lucerne, Avenira foundation, 1998.

The Avenira Foundation appears to be a publishing (book and CD) organ of the writer/composer Emil F. Smidak who has produced two CDs of songs as well as books on Ignaz Moscheles (see below) and the Chevalier de Saint-Georges. These are the first three volumes of five which will cover all of the mulatto composer's violin concertos and sinfonie concertantes (12 of the former and 6 of the latter). Volume One above also includes a "symphony" which was the overture to the opera L'amant anonyme. The miraculous success (as a horseman, fencer, dancer, runner and horseman as well as a composer) of a boy born to a slave mother in the French colony of Guadeloupe can only seem more unbelievable when confronted with such an outpouring of refined and elegant music. Saint-Georges' concertos do not plumb great emotional or philosophical depths but that was not what was expected of such music in Paris at the end of the 18th century and they do conform to the highest exemplars of French concertante works of their time.
